John is a multifaceted individual with a diverse background and a deep passion for his pursuits. A US Army Honor Guard Veteran in Arlington, Virginia, he served his country with pride and precision. With over 30 years of experience, John is a seasoned GM and ASE Master Technician, specializing in automotive diagnostics and electrical repairs. His technical acumen is complemented by his education in computer networking from Kent State University.
After working for Mazda, Nissan, and Saturn, and gaining management experience in an independent shop, John and his supportive wife, Kristine, took a leap of faith in 2016 to open their own automotive repair shop. Beyond his professional life, John is an avid collector of antique guns, enjoys shooting and off-roading, and finds relaxation in his hot tub with a cigar. He is also an adventurous traveler, relishes cruising in his 1970 Chevelle SS, and dedicates his time to restoring a 1955 GMC 100 truck. Above all, he is a loving father to four children and two grandsons.
Kristine holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Kent State University and boasts years of customer service experience in retail, sales, and management. Married for 25 years to John, they have a blended family with a stepson, stepdaughter, and two grandsons. Her oldest son works for the City of Niles, while her youngest is a student at The University of Toledo. Kristine is an avid painter, cherishes family time and enjoys traveling. Her life is a balance of career, family, and creative pursuits, making her a warm and multi-faceted individual who leaves a positive impact on those around her.
Russ attended Fitch High School and TDDS Truck Driving School. With many years of experience as a service advisor, he brings knowledge, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach to every interaction. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, spending quality time with his family, and attending sporting events and concerts. He is a proud husband, father, and grandfather who values hard work, strong relationships, and making lasting memories both at work and at home.
Bobby is a valued member of our team, contributing her expertise since 2021. With a solid background in the tire and lube industry spanning six years, Bobby brings a wealth of experience to her current role. Off the clock, her world revolves around family. She enjoys quality time with her two boys, Caiden and Brody, and her niece, Gabby G. Her love extends to her fur babies as well, making them an integral part of her life. Bobby finds relaxation and pleasure in activities like yard work, water park adventures, shopping, treasure hunting at garage sales, and, perhaps most importantly, catching up on some much-needed rest.
Scott, ASE Master Certified Technician with an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Tech from New Castle School of Trades, has been a valued team member since 2020 and he is more than a car enthusiast – he's an automotive maestro with a passion for electrical automotive repairs. With a love for Volkswagen, a knack for kayaking, and a passion for hockey games, he adds flavor to life beyond the garage. Scott's true heart belongs to his family: he's a loving father of two sons and a daughter, sharing life's adventures with his fiancée. A regular at car shows, he bridges his automotive expertise with quality family time, making him your go-to car guru and family friend.
Alex attended MCCTC for Automotive Technology and is Ford certified in brakes, engine repair, MUH, electrical diagnostics, and steering and suspension. With eight years in the automotive field, he brings skill and passion to every repair. Outside the shop, Alex enjoys Browns and Buckeyes football, Cleveland baseball, weightlifting, and floating on the lake. He loves hiking with his girlfriend and dog, spending time with family, and exploring the outdoors. Whether he's in the woods, in the garage, or out on the lake, Alex finds joy in the simple things—especially when camping, working with tools, or collecting guns and knives.
Yousef joined Berena’s Automotive Center in 2024, bringing with him an associate's degree in Automotive Technology from the New Castle School of Trades, along with certifications in engine performance, heating and A/C, suspension and steering, and brake systems diagnosis and repair. In his free time, he enjoys watching soccer and UFC, riding motorcycles, gaming, and spending time with friends. Outside of work, he’s passionate about working on cars, exploring the outdoors, taking road trips, and discovering new places.
Joe attended Howland High School and began his career working for the City of Niles. He later took on the challenge of climbing radio towers, gaining valuable hands-on experience before ultimately deciding to join and support the family business. Outside of work, Joe has a wide range of interests and hobbies, including photography, riding his motorcycle, ATV, and dirt bike, hiking, and maintaining a strong focus on physical fitness. He also enjoys car audio and detailing vehicles. Above all, Joe values spending quality time with his family and appreciates staying active and hands-on in everything he does.
Sean has had a passion for cars, trucks, engines, and welding since the age of 14. He started his first job at 15 changing oil after school, beginning a career built on hands-on experience and dedication to the automotive industry. Sean holds five ASE Certifications in Brakes, Manual Drivetrain and Axles, Steering and Suspension, Engine Repair, and Engine Performance. He has also completed NAPA World Class training in Electrical Diagnostics and Engine Dynamic Testing. Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, working on his 1995 Chevy K2500 truck, and being outdoors hiking. He also enjoys attending car shows, watching drag racing on TV, appreciating hot rods and classic cars, following vintage drag racing, and relaxing with a good movie.
